About the Conference on Research in Income and Wealth

The Conference on Research in Income and Wealth (CRIW) is affiliated with the National Bureau of Economic Research. It was founded in 1936 to study measurement in economics, in particular, to conduct research on income, wealth, and the development of national economic accounts concepts and statistics. It brings together economists from a wide range of disciplines.

The BEA Digital Library features some of the earliest CRIW volumes on Studies in Income and Wealth that include formative work on the concepts and methods for measuring national income and product.  A few of the well known economists who contributed to these volumes include Morris Copeland, Solomon Fabricant, Milton Friedman, Simon Kuznets, Wesley Mitchell, Robert Nathan, and Clark Warburton.
