This article presents the first monthly estimates of income payments to individuals. Income payments to individuals included national income paid out, plus transfer payments to individuals. Transfer payments to individuals include such items as Social Security benefits and veterans’ compensation. The article provides monthly estimates of income payments by type of payment and compensation of employees by major industry group for the period January 1929 to August 1938.
