This article focuses on consumers' demand for durable goods in the period 1945-49 following World War II. In particular, the rebounding demand for automobiles, as new registrations and age of the automotive fleet are taken into consideration. Demand for refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, and electric ranges are also examined.
